What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual, semi-permanent technique of hyper-realistic eyebrow drawing in which the shape of eyebrows is calculated according to the facial morphology and golden mean (phi 1,618). The technique is intended for anyone who wants to correct the aesthetic problems of their eyebrows. In order to successfully perform the treatment, the skin must be in good condition in the brow area.
The aim of microblading is to lightly deposit pigment into hair thin cuts which the therapist achieves by blading lightly down into the upper layers of the dermis. The pigment is entrapped in the skin when the micro cuts heal, thus the result is achieved after the first treatment.
A top-up is usually required to touch up areas where the colour might have faded, but only approx 30% of the colour is expected to fade. Although it may look quite simple, microblading artistry is not a skill you are likely to see possessed by a typical micro-pigmentation therapist who mainly works with a machine.
Only someone who is totally proficient in the procedure involved in brow design can truly be called a Brow Artist. You need to have realistic expectations of what you will be able to achieve initially as this technique requires time and patience to master.
